Advent is a period of watching and waiting for Christimas. Advent begins this year on 1st December.
This year Tring and Aldbury will have Christingle Services on that day, Aldbury's is at 10am, Tring's is at 3pm.
These are family style services full of symbolism. The Christingle is made of an orange that represents the world, the red ribbon the love and blood of Jesus when he died on the cross, the sticks are for the four seasons and on each stick there are sweets which remind us of the fruits of the earth. The lit candle reminds us of Jesus, Light of the World, bringing hope to people living in darkness. The Christingles are given out as we give money to support the work of the Children's Society which is one of the charities we support as a parish.
